Weekend was spent meeting Red Paddle Company who are supplying their 'explorer' boards for the expedition. Incredibly impressed by the level of innovation and dedication behind the red paddle boards and the Devon welcome that included a stand up paddle session in 4ft perfection with Red Paddle John and 'Coops'... now an official member of the team (you have a week to change your mind... or the pressgang is on...)
Paddling for conservation of the Amazon...... In 2013 we will be the first to undertake a 1300 km descent of the Amazon River using inflatable Stand Up Paddle Boards (www.redpaddleco.com) to raise funds for Rainforest conservation. We want to raise £6000 to buy a research boat to support the work of Entropika - an organisation dedicated to conservation of wildlife in the Amazon (www.entropika.org).

The project is taking more shape now - we have the team together (a mixture of UK, and South American paddlers and conservationists) and working on the website that will take over/work in conjunction with this blog... more coming online in a couple of weeks.
This Friday I am off to Totnes to see the Red Paddle Company and get a chance to trial their expedition board....
